Green Lantern Corps-Animatedby ~Boy-Meets-Hero

I wish that somebody would make an animated Green Lantern series!!! Every time they finish a Batman cartoon, they move on to another one. Batman the Animated series was followed by The Batman and then Batman: The Brave and the Bold. We get it, DC loves Batman!

When are we gonna get a Green Lantern series! lol. the Justice League cartoon is one of my all time favorites! I'm glad it gave us a glimpse of the GL mythos. Unfortunately, Kyle Rayner was only featured twice in bit roles, Hal appeared for like five minutes as a alternate time "hiccup", and Guy was totally left out.

I loved the animated movie, "Green Lantern: First Flight", and I know that they are making a live action movie of GL that will come out in 2011, and that it will star Ryan Reynolds as Hal Jordan. (Yay! He so fine!) So I'm hoping the franchise will have more recognition to warrant a cartoon by then.

Until that hopeful day arrives, I put together some character designs of what an animated GL Series could look like. I based it on the designs used in the Legion of Super Heroes cartoon from a few years ago. James Tucker, who also worked on the Justice League series, was the producer of LOSH and came up with the character designs. I thought they were super sexy, especially Lightning Lad, so I used their looks as a template to create my little cartoon GLs.

Here are Hal Jordan, John Stewart, Kyle Rayner and Guy Gardner, the main stars of my pretend cartoon. (I'm sure that if they actually made an animated GL series, it would only feature Hal.) But here's my dream version of Green Lantern Corps: The Animated Series!

These were a fun diversion from what I usually draw. I created them as vector art in Illustrator and then colored them and added the backgrounds in Photoshop. I think they turned out pretty cool!

So please DC, I've seen Bruce Wayne's parent's death re-depicted enough times in every Batman movie and cartoon you make. Please give the Corps a chance!

There is indeed, a Green Lantern: The Animated Series. It premiered yesterday.

I damand a Guy Gardner! And an epic JLI cameo! D: We just don't get the good ol' Bastard of a man Garnder or the classic Blue&Gold...

And Tora is a definetly YES!

I love Batman the animated series and BatmantB&tB... But JLI will forever kick ass!

Awesome job! Actually, they did plan to make one, but cancelled it for some reason, instead they used the character designs in an episode of duck dodgers in the 24th1/2 century featuring green lantern. The character designs were so good too!
